As part of my research and teaching activities, I also took part in students training periods supervision, be it by partially supervising students doing a training period in my research team, or by tutoring (training period follow-up) students doing training periods out of the university.

Title: Symbolic analysis of multi-genomic data in a RDF setting
This was a 20 weeks training period for which I managed 50% of the supervision activities.
The objective of the training period was to set up advanced querying tools on the database devised in the course of the Génolevures Project, which collects sequencing data for hemascomycetes yeats. The training period includes three goals:

Title: Transfering experimental genomic data to a database
This was a 16 weeks training period for which I managed 10% of the supervision activities.
The objective of the training period was to set up tools allowing to load publicly available experimental data into a local genomic database in order to perform data mining. This work implied syntactic analysis of Excel files and their transformation in order to load them into a MySQL database. These parsing tasks were performed using Lex and Yacc..

Title: Integrating R routines to a TMA data exploitation system
This was a 16 weeks training period for which I managed 40% of the supervision activities.
The first tests of the prototype synthesis system which I've developed as part of my PhD showed a need to couple the visualisation of the synthesis document with results from classic data mining tools. The objective of the training period was a technical study of the call of R functions from JAVA Web pages, in order to prepare for the actual integration into the synthesis system.
Level: Information Technology Bachelor - IUT2, Grenoble 2 University
Nature: 2nd year training period
Title: Development of an interface based on the XFORMS technology
This was a 12 weeks training period for which I managed 95% of the supervision activities.
The objective of the training period was the same as for Samira Khloufi' training period, that is to say the development of the query interface for the synthesis system, but by exploring another approach. Automatic generation of forms based on an XML description is the goal of XFORMS technology. It is the one which was chosen, with use of the Orbeon framework which allows to cope with the limited XFORMS support in current Web browsers.
Level: 1st year Computer Sciences Master - Grenoble 1 University
Nature: TER (Introduction to research through research) training period
Title: A flexible query input system
This was a 8 weeks training period for which I managed 90% of the supervision activities.
The objective of the training period was to perform a first study to design a query interface for the prototype of the synthesis system which I developed as part of my PhD. This work allowed to show that it was feasible to build adaptive input forms for the system. These forms were adapted for the synthesis task to perform through an ad-hoc form generation system based on XML descriptions of the forms.

Title: Meta-analysis of transcriptomic data – CRP-Santé, Luxembourg
This was a 24 weeks training period for which I was the tutor within the teaching staff.
The objective of the training period was to perform a meta-analysis of transcriptomic data regarding the expression of genes related to the cytoskeleton in various samples in various experimental conditions. The student had to extract these data from dedicated databanks and exploit them through statistical and bioinformatics means.

Title: Biobank implementation – CRP-Santé, Luxembourg
This was a 24 weeks training period for which I was the tutor within the teaching staff.
The training period was included within the frame of a new project aiming at setting up a biobank in Luxembourg. A first stage consisted in setting up a sample tracking system (e.g. tumour, blood, etc.) for the samples collected from hospitals and stored in the biobank. The training period intended to prepare for the next stages of the project, which aimed at offering data analysis tools associated with the samples. In particular the goal was to review relevant public databanks and develop a prototype system to integrate these public data with those from the biobank to permit joint querying.
